Summary: Users of the NowGo dashboard can quickly insert new jobs coming throughout the day into shifts that are already in progress without having to do a full solve.

When a day’s plan has been dispatched and new jobs come through

Please note: if you use the Shift key + click and drag to select shifts/jobs, you may need to go to the list of jobs selected and de-select the jobs that aren’t required

You can hold the Shift key down and select some of the unassigned jobs. The “Show Smart Assign” button should appear. This is in the top right hand corner of the dashboard above the selected jobs list.

This should bring up the following panel. In this case, no shifts have been selected.

You also have the option to select some shifts to be considered. The panel will look like this:

  • Click “Insert only”. This will insert selected jobs in between the current stop order for the appropriate shifts; or

  • Click “Allow sequencing”. This will allow the existing stops in a shift to be optimised.

While the solver is progressing the following panel will display:

When the solver finds a solution that works the following panel will display.

  • Click on “View changes in plan” to get an overview of the solution without impacting the live dispatch. Modify the plan as necessary and click on “Dispatch Plan” to implement the changes. Otherwise, click on discard charges to return to the dispatch screen; or

  • Click “Accept changes”. The appropriate shifts will update and jobs will move out of the unassigned list. Jobs/shifts will remain selected; or

  • Click “Reject changes”. The smart assign window will close but jobs/shifts will remain selected.

If there are no new assignments or re-assignments, the following panel will display:

Click “Cancel”. The smart assign window will close but jobs/shifts will remain selected.

When a plan is in progress and there are unassigned jobs that require attention

This process can be done in planning mode. The steps are fairly similar. The main difference is that when a solution is returned, it is accepted automatically.
