Overview

The NowGo mobile app is the tool which drivers use to manage and complete their jobs in NowGo. It enables them to perform the following key actions:

  • View their stops for the day

  • Navigate to each stop (using a third-party GPS app accessible via NowGo)

  • Communicate with dispatchers

  • Mark stops as complete or failed, and provide reasons

  • Capture Proof of Delivery (POD)

User Access

As a general rule of thumb, only drivers will ever need to access the NowGo mobile app.

The exception to this would be if a dispatcher or admin also happens to be responsible for completing jobs themselves. In this instance, they would need to be set up both as a user in the NowGo dashboard, and as a driver under the Resourcing tab.

A dispatcher user does not have access to the mobile app by default - they must also be set up as a driver.

⚠️To add a new driver, log in to the NowGo dashboard and go to Resourcing > Add New Driver.

Navigating the App

It is important to note that this document outlines the process from the point of view of a simple, standard NowGo org setup.

NowGo is a highly configurable platform, and many organisations will have customised workflows, particularly in relation to stop completion. If you are unsure, always ask!

Stops

If a driver has an active shift with jobs assigned, they will be taken straight to the Stops view when they log into the app.

This screen shows them a list of their upcoming stops for the day, and the order in which they are to be completed. From here, they have several options:

  • Navigate to the stop (blue icon)

  • Call the recipient if a contact number has been provided (orange icon)

  • Complete the pickup or delivery (green icon)

Map

Similar to the above, the Map view shows the driver a summary of their upcoming stops for the day, but in map form.

Clicking into any of the stops will take you back to the Stops view.

Messages

This tab is where the driver is able to view and respond to any correspondence received from the dispatcher(s).

Note that the Messaging function can be disabled upon request - for safety reasons, some organisations may prefer not to let their drivers use the app for messaging on the job.

More

All other features in the NowGo app can be found in this section.

  • Stop History - Shows a list of all stops completed for that shift so far.

  • Settings - Allows the driver to manage app settings including app permissions, password and other preferences.

  • Attachments - This is where the driver can view any attachments/documents uploaded by the dispatcher for that shift.

  • Diagnostics - Shows information regarding the device, operating system, app version and UUID.

  • Logout - Allows the driver to log out of the app.

  • What’s New - Displays a summary of recent product releases.

  • Amenities - Displays the National Public Toilet Map.

  • Sequencing FAQ - Contains information on NowGo’s sequencing function and how it works.

Navigating to a Stop

You can navigate to a stop by clicking the following icon:

Once clicked, the following pop-up will appear, and you will have the option to ‘drag and drop’ the pin to change your navigation point if required (or you can leave as is).

From there, NowGo will open your preferred GPS app with the stop address already entered in.

Completing a Stop

There are several types of stops:

  • Pickup

  • Deliver

  • Onboard

  • Offboard

  • Sort

For the purpose of this doc, we will review the process for pickups and deliveries only.

Pickup

To complete a pickup, select the green ‘Pickup’ icon under the relevant stop in the Stops view. This will pull up the details about that stop, including the stop address.

From here, select the barcode icon:

This will open your device camera. From here, scan the barcode(s), and it will update the screen like so:

Once pickup is marked as complete, you will receive confirmation as per the below, and the stop will be removed from the list.

If you are unable to complete the pickup, select the three dots icon, select ‘Can’t Pickup' and provide a failure reason.

Deliver

The same steps outlined above will apply to completing a delivery. If the delivery is successful, after you’ve scanned the item, the POD options will appear like so.

⚠️Note that the POD methods can be customised per organisation (for example, an organisation might require both a signature AND photo for POD).

Alternatively, if you are unable to complete the delivery, select the three dots icon instead of the scan icon, select ‘Can’t Deliver' and provide a failure reason.
